So this fitting has a metric O-ring on one side and a JIC flare on the other, right? Just making sure I'm seeing that correctly.

That's correct. It features a male JIC SAE 37-degree flare thread (7/8-14) on one end and a male metric O-ring with retaining ring (M22X1.5) on the other.
