Carbon steel fittings normally take a beating in wet or exposed conditions, but Eaton Aeroquip put a Dura-Kote plating on this one specifically to push back against corrosion. It's engineered to extend the overall life of the hose assembly, so if rust has been chewing through your current hardware, this should hold up considerably better over time.
