Does the Dura-Kote plating on this fitting hold up decent in wet or corrosive environments, or is that more of a marketing thing?

Dura-Kote is a real corrosion-resistant plating, not just a label. On carbon steel fittings like this one, it gives meaningful protection against rust and surface degradation, which matters when the fitting is exposed to moisture, fluid splash, or outdoor conditions. It won't make the steel invincible, but it's a step above bare or lightly coated steel fittings in terms of longevity.
