what's the corrosion protection like on this fitting? running it in a pretty wet environment and had stuff rust out on me before

Dura-Kote plating is applied to the exterior, which gives it solid corrosion resistance compared to bare carbon steel fittings. It's one of the reasons this fitting holds up better over time in hose assemblies that see moisture or harsh conditions. Carbon steel underneath means it's got the structural strength, and the coating keeps surface corrosion from becoming a problem early on.
