does this fitting work with -16 hose on a 6S crimp system, or do I need something different for that angle?

For 6S series crimp assemblies using -16 hose, this is the right fit. The 22.5 degree CAT flange elbow is built specifically for that dash size and that series, so you're not mixing and matching anything. The flanged end connects on one side, hose on the other, and the angle helps where a straight fitting just won't route clean.
