what's the seal material on the O-ring boss end of this fitting?

trying to swap out an elbow on a hydraulic line, is this one the kind with the ORB on one side and a swivel female on the other?

For a quick fit check, this elbow has a 1-5/8-12 Male SAE Adjustable O-Ring Boss end (SAE J514) on one side and a 1-1/4-11-1/2 Female NPSM Swivel end (SAE J476) on the other. It is a 90 degree forged steel elbow, so it is meant for making that right-angle turn between those two port types.

So this elbow fitting, it'll actually screw right into a standard NPSM port, right? Just making sure 'fore I order a bunch.

It's built to connect to a 1-1/4-11-1/2 Female NPSM Swivel port according to SAE J476 standards, so yes, it should thread right in.
