what thread types are we dealing with on this adapter, the 6900-10-06-O?

One end carries a 7/8-14 male O-ring boss thread built to SAE J514, and the other end is a 3/8-18 female NPSM swivel following SAE J476. That combination lets you connect two lines with those different thread standards in a straight, compact configuration. The NBR O-ring on the boss end handles the sealing, so you get a reliable connection without needing additional sealant on that side.
