Will this fitting work with standard JIC and O-ring boss connections?

This adapter features a male JIC (SAE 37 degree flare) on one side and a male SAE adjustable O-ring boss on the other, so it's made to fit those connections.

what's the thread setup on this fitting, the two ends ain't the same size are they

Correct, they're two different thread types. One end is a #6 Male JIC with a 9/16-18 thread and a 37-degree flare, and the other is a #10 Male SAE Adjustable O-Ring Boss with a 7/8-14 thread. Both ends conform to SAE J514, so they'll mate up with standard hydraulic ports and hose ends built to that spec. The size difference is intentional for connecting lines of different sizes at a 45-degree angle.
