got a gauge port branch tee setup on a hydraulic line and need to know if the male JIC end is a 37-degree flare -- that right for this one?

the male JIC connection on this fitting is a 37-degree SAE flare, sized at 7/8-14. It meets SAE J514, so it'll mate up correctly with standard JIC fittings in that same spec family. The female swivel side is also 7/8-14 with the same 37-degree flare geometry, so both JIC ports are matched. The third port is a 1/4-18 female NPTF, which is your gauge port connection conforming to SAE J476.

trying to replace a little gauge port tee i got, is this one the kind with 7/8-14 JIC and a 1/4-18 NPTF port?

Match the three ends and you are in the right family. It has a 7/8-14 male JIC SAE 37 degree flare on one side, a 7/8-14 female JIC swivel 37 degree flare on the other, and the branch port is 1/4-18 female NPTF.
