got a line running 1-5/16-12 JIC on both ends and need to pull a gauge port off it without breaking the main flow, this tee do that?

That's the kind of work this fitting handles. The two main ports are both 1-5/16-12 JIC, one male flare and one female swivel, so you can drop it straight into an existing JIC line. The branch port off the side is a 7/16-20 female SAE O-ring boss, which is a standard gauge port size. Flow through the main line stays uninterrupted while the branch gives you a dedicated test or gauge connection. Straight steel construction, SAE J514 across all three threads.

trying to add a test gauge on a line, is this the kind of tee that gives you a little gauge port off the side?

Built as a gauge port branch tee, it gives you a main run with JIC 37 degree flare connections and a separate branch port for a gauge or testpoint style hookup. The branch is a female SAE O-ring boss thread in 7/16-20.

What size is that lil hex head where the gauge goes?

The gauge port branch has a 1.500 mm C hex for the gauge connection.
