thread on the NPT side is 1/4-18 female, so that'd be goin onto a male NPT fitting on my equipment, that right?

On the other end you get a 1/4-18 Female NPTF thread, so it bridges a 7/16-20 Female JIC swivel 37 degree flare to a 1/4-18 Female NPTF connection.
