Product Questions & Answers

Will this fitting hold up if I'm using it for hydraulics on a farm tractor?
Question by: Janice H on Sep 23, 2025, 10:50 AM
This 90-degree elbow is made from forged steel, so it should be durable enough for demanding hydraulic applications.

got a hose with a #10 JIC on it already. is this the elbow that’ll turn it 90 and still stay #10 on both ends?

For a 90 degree turn while keeping the same size, this fitting matches #10 MJIC on one side and #10 FJIC swivel on the other, both with SAE 37 degree flare seats. The threads are 7/8-14 on both ends to SAE J514, so it stays #10 JIC end to end.

both ends on this thing are 7/8-14 threads, does that mean I can swap it in where I've got a straight JIC fitting right now, or is there something about the swivel end that changes the game?
Question by: Eddie H on Oct 8, 2025, 2:48 PM
The male end is a standard 7/8-14 JIC SAE 37-degree flare, same as what you'd find on a typical straight fitting at that thread size. The female end is a swivel, which actually gives you a little more flexibility during installation since it can rotate without twisting the line. Both ends conform to SAE J514, so thread compatibility with other J514-rated fittings at that size is solid. The 90-degree angle is the main thing to account for when swapping from a straight fitting, make sure you've got the clearance for it before you commit.
