Will this sensor work okay in a hydraulic oil cooler setup?
Question by: Sherry P on Mar 4, 2026, 8:04 PM
Designed for monitoring temperatures in hydraulic systems, this sensor is well-suited for oil coolers and heat exchangers where consistent temperature monitoring is needed. Its 130-degree rating is commonly used for cooler bypass or alarm applications.

What exactly is this sensor used for, and would it work on an oil cooler setup?
Question by: Shane M on Feb 18, 2026, 6:45 PM
Fixed-setpoint temperature sensors like this one are commonly used in oil cooler and heat exchanger systems to monitor fluid temps and trigger bypass or alarm functions when the fluid hits that threshold. The 130-degree setpoint and 1/2 in. MNPT connection make it a solid fit for those kinds of thermal management assemblies. If your cooler has a standard 1/2 in. threaded port, installation is pretty straightforward.

got a cooler port that’s 1/2 mnpt, will this temp sensor screw right in or am i missing something

With a 1/2 in. MNPT connection, it’s made to thread into standard 1/2 in. female NPT ports you’d see on coolers, heat exchangers, and similar thermal equipment.
