thread on this plug is 9/16-18 male SAE O-ring boss -- that's the right fit for SAE J514 ports, yeah?

It's designed to work specifically with male SAE O-ring boss threads conforming to the SAE J514 specification. Compatibility outside of that isn't guaranteed.
