got a port on my valve block that's 1-3/16-12 ORB and need to run a JIC line off it, this straight adapter do that job?

That's what this fitting is built for. One end is a 1-3/16-12 Male SAE O-Ring Boss, the other is a 1-1/16-12 Male JIC SAE 37-degree flare. Both threads meet SAE J514, so you get a clean, standard-compliant transition between those two connection types in a straight-line configuration.
