got a spot on a hydraulic line that uses a 9/16-18 JIC on one end and needs to tie into a 7/8-14 ORB port, this the right fitting for that?

That's what this one's built for. One end is a male JIC SAE 37-degree flare at 9/16-18, and the other is a male SAE O-ring boss at 7/8-14. Both threads meet SAE J514, so if your line and port match those sizes, this fitting connects them straight through without any adapters in between.

For a 9/16-18 male JIC 37 degree flare connection, the B1 side on this fitting matches that thread and flare style, so it’s intended to mate to a JIC flare seat. The other end is a 7/8-14 male SAE O-ring boss that seals with an NBR O-ring.
