does this adapter work with standard 5/16-24 JIC fittings on both sides, or is one end different from the other?

One end carries a male JIC 37-degree flare thread and the other is a male SAE O-ring boss thread, both sized at 5/16-24. So it bridges those two thread types rather than matching the same style on each end. Both ends conform to SAE J514, which keeps everything playing nice with standard hydraulic components built to that spec.
