got a metric M10 x 1.0 port on a small hydraulic block and need to run an ORFS line off it at a right angle, this the fitting that bridges those two?

Yeah, that's exactly what this one does. One end is a 9/16-18 UNF Male ORFS, the other is a Male M10 x 1.0 Metric thread, and the whole thing sits at a 90-degree angle between them. It's steel construction, so it holds up in standard hydraulic circuit conditions. trying to hook a 1/4" ORFS hose up to a metric port, is this the right elbow for that?

For joining those two standards at a right angle, it matches a 1/4 inch Male ORFS end with 9/16-18 UNF threads on one side and a Male Metric M10 x 1.0 end on the other.

That's correct. This adapter features a 1/4" Male ORFS fitting (9/16-18 UNF thread) on one end and a Male Metric M10 x 1.0 fitting on the other.
