swivel fitting with a 1/4" thread, is that what this Stauff piece is, or am I reading the part number wrong?

You're reading it right. The FI-GE series on this fitting tells you it's a swivel-type male connector, and the 1/4N in the part number confirms the 1/4" thread. That swivel configuration is what makes it useful when your line and port don't line up perfectly during assembly.
