got a 1 inch ORFS male fitting on my hydraulic line and need to tie into a BSPP male port on a piece of equipment, will this adapter work for that or do I need something in between?

That's exactly the setup this fitting handles. One end is a 1-inch male ORFS with a 1-7/16-12 UN thread, and the other is a 1-inch male BSPP running G 1-11 thread. It comes with a seal included, so you're not hunting down a separate face seal to make that ORFS end work right. Straight body, steel construction, and it goes together without any additional adapters in between.
