Will this motor hold up okay for running a small wood splitter?

This 6000 Series Geroler motor works great in wood product applications, so it should be well-suited for a small wood splitter. Just make sure you're using a premium anti-wear hydraulic fluid, and give it a good break-in period.

what kind of hydraulic fluid does this motor need, and is there a viscosity range I should be staying in?

Premium quality anti-wear hydraulic fluid is what you want running through it. For viscosity, the recommended range is 100 to 200 SUS, though the minimum at operating temperature is 70 SUS. Staying within that range keeps the internal components protected and the motor running the way it's supposed to.

got a motor mount already drilled for a 4 bolt SAE C. is this one the right flange pattern?
