runs on a dump truck that sees some pretty rough winters, just wanna make sure this fitting can handle the cold without cracking or seizing up on me

Cold weather operation is built into this coupling. It's rated down to -40 degrees, so freezing temps common to winter dump truck and snowplow setups won't push it past its limits. The zinc-plated steel body holds up to the wear and the Buna-N seals stay functional at those low temperatures. It's a fit for exactly that kind of application.
