Will this here fitting work with a standard hydraulic setup on my tractor?

For hydraulic fluid transfer, this male half quick disconnect is commonly used in agricultural equipment. It's built to the ISO 7241/1 Series A standard, so it should be compatible with other parts made to that spec.

does this thing work with a standard 1/8 NPT female port, or do I need some kind of adapter to hook it up?

The male half threads directly into a 1/8-27 female pipe thread port, so no adapter needed if your equipment already has that size. The -04 coupling size lines up with that thread spec, and the push-pull ball latch handles the fluid line connection on the other end. Pretty straightforward swap if you're replacing an existing fitting in that size.
