trying to step down from a 1 inch pipe thread to a 1/4 inch port, is that what this bushing does

Built as a reducer bushing, it adapts between a 1-11-1/2 male NPTF thread on the outside and a 1/4-18 female NPTF thread on the inside, both to SAE J476.
