got a 1/4-18 male nptf on one side and need to land into a 1/4-18 female nptf port. is that what this expander is set up for?

With male NPTF (B1) on one end and female NPTF (B2) on the other, both in 1/4-18, it’s set up to connect a 1/4-18 male NPTF thread into a 1/4-18 female NPTF thread using SAE J476 thread specs.
