Will this tee work with standard DIN fittings or does it need some kinda special connector?

It's designed for use with standard DIN tube connections, specifically M16 X 1.5 threading on all three sides. So, you shouldn't need any special adapters if your setup uses those.

All three sides on this thing are M16 x 1.5 threaded, does that mean sides 1 and 2 are both male and side 3 is the female end, or did I read that wrong?

You read it right. Sides 1 and 2 are both male DIN tube connections, and side 3 is the female. All three ports share the same M16 x 1.5 thread spec, so the tee keeps things consistent across the whole fitting. All three connection points are M16 x 1.5. Side 1 and Side 2 are male DIN tube connections, and Side 3 is a female DIN tube connection, all in size L10.
