both sides are M20 x 1.5 Din Tube, so does that mean this swivel connects two lines using the same fitting standard on each end?

Correct on the thread spec. Both sides run M20 x 1.5 Din Tube at S12 sizing, but the key difference is that Side 1 is male and Side 2 is female. That male-to-female setup is what makes it a swivel rather than just a straight coupling. You get rotation at the joint without the lines twisting up on themselves, and the 90-degree elbow shape lets you redirect flow where a straight connector just won't work.

What size wrench do I need for this swivel fitting? Looks like I need to tighten it down pretty good.

You'll need a 17mm wrench for the smaller width (CH1) and a 24mm wrench for the larger width (CH2) of this Adaptall swivel.
