Both ends are M52 x 2.0 DIN tube fittings, does that mean this thing works as a male-to-female swivel, or are both sides the same gender?

One end is male DIN tube and the other is female DIN tube, both running M52 x 2.0 threads and both sized at L42. The 90-degree elbow gives you a right-angle turn between the two, and the swivel function lets the fitting rotate so you can align your lines without twisting them during assembly.
