Got a line coming off an L22 DIN fitting and need to step it down to L18, this reducer do that job straight inline?

That's exactly what it's built for. One end threads onto an M30 x 2.0 female DIN connection at the L22 size, and the other presents an M26 x 1.5 male DIN at the L18 size. The straight body keeps everything in line without any offset, so if your routing runs clean and you just need to bridge those two DIN tube sizes, this fitting handles it directly.
