What size tubing does this cap fit onto, and is it a metric thread?

metric all the way. The cap is threaded for M42 X 2.0 DIN tube connections, so it fits right onto standard metric DIN tube ends at that thread spec. The side designation is S30, which corresponds to that 42mm thread callout. If your tube end matches M42 X 2.0 DIN, this cap will seat on it no problem.

got a din tube with M42 x 2.0 threads, is this cap the right match or am i off a size

The key callout is M42 x 2.0 on a DIN tube connection, and this cap is female on Side 1 with that exact M42 x 2.0 thread. Side 1 size is listed as S30.
