Got a metric tube port that needs capping off, will the M16 X 1.5 thread on this plug actually seal it up without needing any tape or sealant on it?

Steel-to-steel DIN tube connections like this one are built to seal through thread engagement alone. No sealant, no tape, nothing extra required. The M16 X 1.5 thread is a metric DIN spec, so as long as your port matches that thread pitch and size, you're getting a solid mechanical seal straight out of the box.
