both ends are M20 x 1.5 on this thing, right? just want to make sure before i go cutting into the panel

Correct on both counts. Each side carries an M20 x 1.5 male DIN tube thread, so you've got a matched straight-through connection. The fitting runs 60mm overall in length, with 14.5mm on one side and 30.5mm on the other, which gives you enough thread engagement to work through most panel thicknesses without a lot of fuss.
