This adapter features a DIN tube fitting on one end, specifically an M18 x 1.5 male thread, and a 3/8" - 18 NPTF male thread on the other. It's made to bridge those connection standards.

got a hose end with M18 x 1.5 din tube (L12) on it and i need to tie into a 3/8 npt port. is this the right adapter?

For that exact changeover, it matches up. Side 1 is an M18 x 1.5 DIN tube male thread in size L12, and side 2 is a 3/8 - 18 NPTF male thread, so it bridges a metric DIN tube fitting to an inch NPT connection in a straight adapter.
