got a metric DIN tube end on one side and need to tie into 3/8 NPT pipe threads on the other -- is this the adapter that bridges those two?

That's exactly what this one does. One end is an M16 x 1.5 DIN tube fitting (male, light duty) and the other is a 3/8-18 NPTF male thread. Straight body, steel construction. If your tube side is a 16mm metric DIN connection and your port or valve is 3/8 NPT female, this adapter completes that transition without any additional fittings.
