got a metric DIN tube setup on one end and need to go into a 9/16-18 ORB port on the other, is this the right adapter?

For that combo, yes. One side is an M12 x 1.5 DIN tube male, and the other side is a 9/16 - 18 UNF SAE ORB male, so it bridges a metric DIN tube connection to an SAE ORB connection.
