trying to hook a metric DIN tube end to a 1/2 BSPP port, is this the right adapter or am i mixing stuff up

It bridges those two standards in a straight steel body, with an M18 x 1.5 male DIN tube end (L12 series) on one side and a G 1/2 - 14 BSPP male end (1/2 inch) on the other.

got a machine running DIN tube fittings on one end and a BSPP port on the other, does this adapter handle that crossover straight out of the box?

Yeah, that's exactly what this fitting is built for. One side is a male M18 x 1.5 DIN tube end in the L12 series, and the other is a male G 1/2-14 BSPP thread. Steel body, straight configuration, so there's no bending or angled offset to account for. The ES seal on the BSPP side handles the sealing without any thread tape or compound needed on that end.
