both ends are M36 X 2.0 male DIN tube fittings on this thing, right? just want to make sure i ain't got a male-to-female situation before i go wrenching on it

Both sides are male M36 X 2.0 DIN tube connections, same spec on each end. So you're looking at a male-to-male union straight through. Make sure whatever you're threading it into has female DIN tube ports on both sides to match up correctly.

trying to swap out a union on my line, is this one male on both ends with M36 x 2.0?

Both ends are male DIN tube connections with an M36 x 2.0 thread callout, size S25 on each side.
