trying to match up a union i pulled off, is this one straight with M52 x 2.0 male threads on both ends?

Straight-body union with M52 x 2.0 male on Side 1 and Side 2, and both ends are DIN tube connections in size L42.

both sides on this union are M52 x 2.0 with L42 sizing, that mean it's a straight-through connection, same spec on each end?

Correct on all counts. Both Side 1 and Side 2 carry the same M52 x 2.0 thread callout, the same L42 size, and both are male DIN tube connections. So you're getting a symmetrical straight union with no reduction or offset between the two ends. If your lines are already running L42 DIN tube fittings, this should tie right in without any adapters in between.
