Will this union work with standard hydraulic fittings, or is it specifically for DIN connections?

This union is made specifically for DIN tube connections. One side fits M26 x 1.5 threads, and the other fits M16 x 1.5 threads.

got a couple DIN tube connections that need to be joined straight through, one side is M26 x 1.5 and the other is M16 x 1.5 -- would this union handle that kind of mixed-thread setup?

That's what this fitting is built for. One end is M26 x 1.5 and the other is M16 x 1.5, both male DIN tube connections, so joining two different-sized DIN lines in a straight run is right in its wheelhouse. Both sides are male gender, so make sure your mating connections are female DIN tube on each end before ordering.

trying to swap a union on a machine, is this one male on both ends with M26 x 1.5 on one side and M16 x 1.5 on the other?

It is a straight DIN tube union with male threads on both ends. Side 1 is M26 x 1.5 (size L18) and side 2 is M16 x 1.5 (size L10).
