Got a hydraulic line running M22 x 1.5 on one end and need to drop down to M18 x 1.5 on the other, this the right piece for that?

That's exactly what this fitting handles. Side 1 is M22 x 1.5 male DIN at L15, and Side 2 steps down to M18 x 1.5 male DIN at L12, so it bridges those two metric sizes in a straight, male-to-male configuration. Both ends are DIN tube type, so as long as your line ends match those specs, you're in good shape.
