both sides on this union are M12 x 1.5 male DIN tube fittings, right? just want to make sure before i order a couple

Correct on both counts. Each end carries an M12 x 1.5 male DIN tube connection, so you're looking at a symmetric fitting all the way through. The L06 sizing applies to both sides as well, which makes it straightforward for joining two matching DIN tube lines without any adapting or mismatched threading.
