got a hose setup with a -8 dash and a JIC 37 male end, is this the right fitting size?

The key callouts are right in the specs: it is a -8 hose dash size fitting with a male JIC 37 end, and the end size is 0.75.

what's the corrosion resistance like on this fitting? running it in a pretty wet environment and the last ones rusted out on me faster than they should've

Dura-Kote plating is what sets this one apart from standard carbon steel fittings. That coating is specifically built to hold up against corrosion, which makes it a better option when moisture is a regular part of the environment. Carbon steel on its own can rust out quick, but the plating here is engineered to slow that down and keep the fitting serviceable longer.
