Does this fitting have any kind of corrosion protection built in, or is that something you gotta add yourself?

Corrosion resistance is already built into the fitting through Dura-Kote plating, so there's nothing extra you need to apply or source separately. That coating is part of how the fitting holds up in rough industrial conditions over time. Carbon steel construction handles the structural load, and the plating takes care of keeping rust and corrosion from becoming a problem down the road.
