fitting says it's for 4-wire spiral hose, does the -12 dash size mean it'll work with a 3/4 inch hose or is that somethin different?

Dash sizes in hydraulic fittings follow a standard sizing convention where -12 corresponds to a 3/4 inch hose inside diameter. So yes, you're looking at the right size if you're running 3/4 inch 4-wire spiral hose. Just make sure the hose itself is rated for spiral construction and that the JIC 37 degree flare end on the fitting side matches your mating connection.
