Dura-Kote plating on this Eaton Aeroquip fitting gives it superior corrosion resistance, which should help it last longer even in demanding environments.

fitting's got a DIN 24 degree seat on it -- does that mean it'll mate up with standard metric hydraulic lines without needing any adapters in between?

For metric line, hose, and tube interfaces, yes, that's exactly what it's built for. The DIN 24 degree seat is the sealing geometry, and the end type on this fitting is specifically rated for metric connections. No adapter should be needed as long as your line matches a -16 dash size on the hose end.
