fitting says it's got Dura-Kote plating on it, how well does that hold up against rust and corrosion out in the field?

Carbon steel fittings without a decent surface treatment can rust out faster than you'd like, especially in wet or dirty environments. The Dura-Kote plating on this one is specifically there to push back against that. It gives the fitting a corrosion-resistant barrier that holds up in demanding conditions, which is a big part of why Eaton Aeroquip uses it across their higher-end spiral hose fitting lines.
