fitting's got Dura-Kote plating on it -- how well does that actually hold up against rust and corrosion out in the field?

Carbon steel fittings without a good surface treatment can start showing corrosion pretty fast in wet or chemically harsh environments. The Dura-Kote plating on this one is specifically there to push back against that. It's part of what Eaton Aeroquip built into the design to extend the working life of the whole hose assembly, not just protect the fitting surface. For demanding industrial conditions, that coating makes a real difference in how long the assembly stays reliable before you're pulling it apart and replacing components.
