does this fitting work with 4-wire spiral hose on -16 dash size applications, or is it only for certain hose types?

The flanged end follows SAE Code 61 specs and the 60-degree elbow geometry helps route hose in tighter spaces where a straight fitting just won't clear. It's a crimp-style assembly, so you'll need the appropriate crimper set up for Aeroquip 4S fittings to get a proper swage.
