what's the corrosion protection like on this fitting? running equipment outside and rust has been a real headache with other brands

Dura-Kote plating is applied to the carbon steel body specifically to fight corrosion. It holds up better than standard zinc plating in outdoor and wet conditions, which is why Aeroquip uses it across their 4S series line. For equipment that lives outside or gets exposed to moisture regularly, that coating makes a real difference in how long the hose assembly holds up before you start seeing wear around the fitting.
