Will this fitting work with a standard 5/8" OD tube?

Correct on both counts. The barb end accepts 5/8 inch OD tubing, and the male thread is a 3/4-16 SAE adjustable O-ring boss, which is the standard -8 ORB port size. The O-ring is NBR, and the thread spec follows SAE J514, so it seats properly in a standard ORB boss. The 45 degree angle helps when you need to route hose out of a tight spot without putting a hard bend right at the port.
